With sold-out tickets, EdTech Congress Barcelona 2026 confirmed its status as a strategic meeting point for the education and technology sectors. Under the theme “Reimagining education and training in the era of artificial intelligence,” the congress addressed key challenges such as personalized learning, data protection, the evolving role of teachers and the balance between digital and traditional literacy.
The opening keynote by Kristina Ishmael emphasized the human in the loop principle, arguing that technology should amplify — not replace — teacher expertise. Cristóbal Cobo also contributed insights on the need for a “deliberate cognitive diet” that balances deep reading with critical AI use.
Beyond keynote sessions, the congress featured practical case studies, solution showcases and discussions focused on real implementation within educational systems.
Among the highlighted initiatives was AI4EDU, led by the Edutech Cluster with the support of ACCIÓ, aimed at helping EdTech companies anticipate and comply with the European AI Act through self-assessment tools and practical compliance guidelines.
This edition reaffirms the congress as a strategic platform for ecosystem connection, business development and the international projection of Catalonia’s responsible and competitive EdTech leadership.
