30 March 2026
Artificial intelligence is already part of our daily lives. It determines what content we see, how information is filtered, and, in many cases, shapes our perception of reality. However, behind this apparent technological neutrality lie decisions, data, and structures that can reproduce biases, amplify misinformation, and generate significant social impacts.
In this context, the Ètica en Joc project is organizing its closing event as a space for reflection and dialogue on the main ethical challenges associated with artificial intelligence, focusing on information, verification, and responsibility in its use.
The session will feature Montserrat Rigall, journalist and AI researcher at RTVE, specializing in analyzing the impact of AI on the media and on information generation and validation processes.

A critical perspective on artificial intelligence in today’s society
The rapid evolution of artificial intelligence has profoundly transformed the information ecosystem. Today, algorithms not only process data but also generate content, recommend news, and influence access to information.
This new scenario raises fundamental questions:
How is truth constructed in algorithm-mediated environments?
What risks does the automation of information entail?
How do biases affect the way we understand the world?
Through the speaker’s experience, these challenges will be addressed from a critical perspective, connecting technological development with its social, ethical, and democratic implications.
Session content
During the event, the following key topics will be addressed:
The impact of artificial intelligence on the generation and dissemination of information
New challenges in content verification and validation
Fake news and misinformation in the era of generative AI
Algorithmic biases, with a special focus on gender bias
The role of the media in the face of automation
Responsibility and decision-making in AI-based system
A closing that connects learning and reality
This event marks the conclusion of the Ètica en Joc project, an initiative that has allowed students, educators, and professionals to practically explore the ethical dilemmas associated with the development and use of artificial intelligence.
Through a gamified competition, participants have worked on issues such as equity, sustainability, and transparency, understanding that technological development involves complex decisions and often tensions between different values.
The final session will provide an opportunity to contextualize these learnings in the real world, connecting the project experience with the current challenges posed by artificial intelligence in areas such as information, communication, and society as a whole.
Why attend
This event is aimed at anyone interested in better understanding the impact of artificial intelligence beyond its technical dimension:
Educators who want to incorporate a critical perspective in the classroom
Students interested in the social impact of technology
Professionals in the fields of education, technology, or communication
Anyone interested in the future of information and AI
Attending this session will provide tools to critically interpret the systems that are already part of our environment, as well as an opportunity to reflect on the role we should assume as citizens in an increasingly automated world.
We look forward to seeing you!
